missing redbone near richmond va

Thursday afternoon, 10/09, my 3-yr old male redbone got out of his kennel & then slipped his collar when my roommate tried to grab him. The few times he has got away from me before, he has come back in 20-30 minutes. But he is still gone.

Danny is about 24.5" 7 55-60 lbs.
Very loud bawly voice.
Danny was very sick @ 8 weeks of age & spent about a week in intensive care w/ a high fever, which apparently fried his little brain. He is very sweet, but not the brightest & a bit neurotic. At dinnertime, he gets so excited, he attacks his water bowl - biting & barking at it until all the water spills out & I bring him his dinner. The fever seems to have damaged his scenting ability as well, as he does not seem able to follow a scent track (he is out of old hunting stock).
He will not hunt coon & I doubt he will hunt deer.

Lost off Hines Road, between RT. 10 & RT. 460 near Disputanta.
If anyone has any info, please call me at:

Beautiful hound...

... hope he comes home on his own quickly. Bob also said Nice Head.... I read him the post since Webster(our BnT) has brain fried issues from severe dehydration... different issues but so similar in a way... very though to lose a special needs animal.... they are more helpless than the average coonhound. We send thoughts and prayers for his quick return, Heather and Bob

this is true Hobo.
unlike adonis, i don't imagine danny could have gone so far on his own.

heather...danny has the nicest head i have ever seen on a redbone. most of the dogs in his breeder's line have super nice heads, but danny's is exceptionally so. very nice, balanced movement too. not sure if you can see the 2
Group 1 ribbons hanging behind him in the photo.

i have 3 all breed shows coming up soon & was looking forward to finishing him to CGRCH. he already has 2 or 3 wins towards the grand title.

i am very worried about him & my cur dog sammy misses his kennel mate & best friend. especially with the nights getting chilly.

....Yes, Bob and I noticed them. Was REALLY hoping when I saw you post that he was home.... Can't imagine how this feels after the last LONG time lost boy. Hope this one ends HAPPILY but sooner. Think positive and we'll all send positive thoughts. It makes me feel so sick when I think what would happen if Webster got loose...
Lets all be thinking about how soon you'll get that CGRCH on him....
Heather
