Problem with wild pigs

I just received this email - could this situation actually be happening in THIS country?

There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat; you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms - just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free Lunch! A politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do yourself.

If you see all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!

In this 'very important' election year, listen closely to what the candidates are promising you - just maybe you will be able to tell who is about to slam the gate on America .

'A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.' - Thomas Jefferson

This has been going on here since FDR began the New Deal. Times were hard then and with a war looming and the economy at a low point there were good reasons for it but nothing was ever rolled back, only added to. At some point, probably early in it, the politicians realized they had a election machine established and they kept looking for ways to keep it going. Now you have so many in the USA who have no clue how to fend for themselves by honest work and straight living. It will take a generation or two of peeling back the layers of social welfare programs to get us back to being a country known for taking care of our own and not depending on the federal gov't to feed, burp and change us. I do believe there are a lot of Americans who are able to stand and do what they need to do but the Democratic party does not consider those Americans part of its voting block. I'm hoping enough of us who care will vote for the candidates who want to see us succeed on our own without props and handouts.

I don't think I would take political advice from someone who left thier own country.

Someone who left their own country may be the best one to take advice from. If you ever get a chance to talk to anyone who has left a communist Marxist country about their views on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness then it could be very educational. Come to think of it, isn't the USA mostly a collection of folks who came here from other countries or someone in their family line did. Only ones that I can think of that didn't are the native people and many of the concepts from the Iroquois nation were incorporated into our federal gov't structure by our founding fathers.

Great post!
I visited Russia when Kruschev & Kennedy were in power. I spent a lot of time visiting West Germany (dog/horse) friends when the Berlin Wall was still in place. We talked for HOURS about the ills of Communism. And one of my best friends there had escaped from East Germany. His escape story was breathtaking. He escaped riding a motorcycle just 2 check-points ahead of the KGB controlled East German Police when he reached the western checkpoint & safety. It's a fascinating story & just ONE of many told by those who want all of the benefits offered in a free-enterprise society.

That makes you officially older than me. I was all of zero years old then, not born until 1965. Those weren't really tourist days back then, what took you there? Were you a CIA operative or work for the State Dept.? Sounds like a story we might like to hear.

Well when we as a country starts to vote for econmics, instead of morals, ethics, and freedom we are all in trouble. I believe we just need to throw anyone in America who says "I am a politician" out of our country. Most Americans seem to want anymore is crumbs from Washington's table. We are living in a scary time. God help us all.
