Fix the country

I hate politics all ticks for that matter .Heres just a few thoughts what I think might help.

1.Lets pay our congress more.Thats right lets pay them more money, enough to make it worth it to have good honest people apply for the job.

2.lets then pass a law that says if they take as much as one thin dime from any lobbiest they are fired and have to pay back all their wages.

3.lets finally get term limits in place to stop any corruption that may still sneak in.

4.lets eliminate the two part system ..you all run on one ballot in the spring the top two get to race for the chase in the fall.

lastly the fall race is paid for from tax dollars with the two getting exactly the same ...why ...campaign contrubution is just another way of saying "Bribe"

Just food for thought

.

In my opinion this the only answer. People wanting to serve the country have 4 yrs. After that they go back to the private sector. Special interests wouldn't matter then.

I also think that term limits would be the best thing that could happen to this country. We'll never see it because the people in congress will never vote for it.

I think you have some good points.

Think jury duty. It's a citizen obligation. Jurors often decide between freedom, incarceration, or even life/death of American citizens. And, jurors are selected from the citizenry. Nobody campaigns for it!

Why couldn't we do the same (with a strong screening process) for the governance of our country. Seems fair to me. The screening process would be the key.

If we can trust jurors with life or death decisions (the ultimate decision), then surely we should be able to trust the same selection process to select representatives to make decisions that are less severe and less permanent!

Only problem with that honalieh is it will be the opinion of someone rather than term limits of say 4 yrs making the decisions.
