One night my buddy left his male dog in the woods, it was getting late, and he had to be at work in the morning. He came back the next night and turned loose a couple dogs. They treed and he went to the dogs, as he was standing there, Rambler came in and started treeing with the others. My friend noticed something swinging around, and it was hind leg. The vet had to cut it off, and it slowed him down a little. He was the best Bluedog I ever hunted with, and reproduced good, too.

wouldnt know if that would have been good or bad , but glad he got the dog .

It was the story that stood out the most in my mind, because the dog came into tree with a leg broke in half. He ended up being a three legged coon dog.
