Need help with a dogs foot

I have a hound I'm trying to get ready for Autumn Oaks and this morning I noticed he has a piece of his pad missing and he won't put any weight on it. Anyone have any advice on how to help this heal fast ?

EMT is good but there is a product called instant skin that can be purchaced at a drug store. Clean well with proxide and dry well. Then spray on instant skin and let dry. Reapply again after first coat is all the way dry. It will put a protective water proof coating over the pad. Just like your own skin!! Works better than EMT!! It's also an antibiotic!!
