THAT'S SOMETHING THAT GETS OUR YOUNG DOGS A$$E$ WHIPPED AROUND HERE FOR DOING! LOL. YEP, ALL OUR KENNEL DOORS NOW HAVE SNAPS IN THEM BECAUSE JR WILL PUSH THEM OPEN WITH HIS NOSE AND BE GONE IN A NEW YORK MINUTE.

MONDAY NIGHT, QUINCY TOOK HERCULES HUNTING AND LEFT JR IN THE LOT. THEY ARE KENNELD TOGETHER, AND HE FORGOT TO PUT THE SNAP IN THE LATCH. 30 MINUTES AFTER HE LEFT DADDY CALLED AND SAID JR WAS TREED BEHING THE NEIGHBORS HOUSE, AND HE HAD TO GO GET HIM AT 11:30PM. LOL. HE WASNT HAPPY!

WHOEVER THOUGHT OF SELLING THOSE SNAPS NOT ATTACHED TO A DOG LEAD.......MADE A FORTUNE OFF COONHUNTERS FOR THAT REASON!

AND WHAT BLOWS MY MIND, IF YOU GOT ONE THAT WILL DO IT, IT'LL TEACH OTHERS TO DO IT TOO! I SWEAR THAT THEY DO!

I got one here the same age that does the same thing, I didn't know that was a big deal, it really makes me mad when they learn that stuff. I am much more impressed by one that shows interest in a coon at 5 months.

I wonder what other traits it inherited from Elvis?

Thanks Chris, I prefer a smart coondog over just a coondog. I like to have my cake and eat it to. Not all Elvis pups are super intelligent, but I have found the ones that are really intelligent make the quickest starting, fastest advancing, best dogs. It has to do with the dogs recall, his or hers ability to remember what was taught before. Memory that is.

I have learned that it's allot easier to screw up a smart dog than one that's about half crazy. I have one now that's too smart for his own good. You have to be careful how you handle dogs like that, you can ruin them in a hurry.

I wish my Elvis gyp would remember the boot stomping she has received for attacking other dogs at the tree and in the box. She has the running of game and barking in the kennel problem under control and seems to remember those are bad things to do just fine. But let her see any other dog near the tree or in her face in the box and it is a no hold barred fight until she is choked off of her victim.

Probably remembers a rough puppy hood, only the agressive get the food, if we get to eat at all. Beat her some more, it will make YOU feel better. Yea ,i have found it is hard to keep a tree dog quiet in the pen, especially when they WANT to go hunting, that is why they created NO-Bark collars, try one.

Nice looking pup...

I like the ones who try and "outsmart" you.. In my experience once you get them ironed out they are the more enjoyable ones to hunt..

She had an easy "puppy hood", and had no aggression at all except towards other dogs. From the time she was 4-5 months old she would attack any other dog around here for no reason. I am sorry I seemed to strike a nerve Wesley, and I know people seem to bite their lip about this subject with you and Elvis's offspring, but it is common knowledge he throws very dominate, aggressive dogs. I hear it EVERY weekend at PKC and UKS hunts.

Why does people think any stud dog isn't going to throw pups to suit everyone. If you don't like what a dog is throwing in stud pen than don't breed to it. I'm not taking up for elvis or any other stud dog. The bottom line is there not going to satify everyone, and as for the walker breed there are to many nice stud dogs to choose from instead of trying to down a mans dog. I have never hunted with any pups off of elvis and have positive and negatives, but who knows, it could from the dam or the trainer. It might be the sire, but if it is, don't get on here and down his dog. I don't Wes that good, but have heard he is a pretty good guy, and hey, you half to admit old Elvis has some brains. Not trying to stir anything up, but give the man some respect and call him up and talk about it in private. Tim

Jane, I fully understand that every stud dog out there has thrown some ill natured, treeing alligators and I know full well that there is people that has named every stud dog out there as one that throws ill natured pups.
I too am awestruck and entertained by Elvis's tricks and intelligence. But it doesnt overshadow what I have seen as traits in his offspring.
I have as much right to mention what I have seen as a dominate trait in the ELvis bloodline as people do saying Sackett dogs are very tree minded, Coma dogs are track running fools, and Lipper dogs are small brained idiots.
Like I have said before, this seems to be more and more of a conversation topic at the hunts lately.

Since you a so certain that so many pups out of Elvis are mean could you do all of us a favor and show us your proof. We would like to know the UKC Registration number, dog's registered name, and owner, with contact information. If you can provide these for us then maybe you will have somewhat shown that you are not full of sh*t.

I look forward to proof!
