Well, the Clearfork dogs ( clearfork Tramp, and clear fork stylish cheif) went back to Kaw river cheif by way of Randy Jaccauds old Clear fork Hank dog. He was Kaw river bred. I know ron smith has a male dog that is from that line of dogs. Those were coon dogs for sure, I hunted the old Hank dog a few times, and had a pup off him that was the best I have ever owned. He got hit in the road at 16 mos old.

I hunted with some hounds back in the 80s that went back to him, they had good clear chop mouths and could flat run a coon up a tree looked and sounded like walkers

What kind dogs are your dogs, i mean are they cold nosed, chop mouth? hard running to catch hounds ? I guess if they are cat dogs they have to have some good bottom ?

You just described them pretty darn well..

Our female is the coldest nosed dog that I have hunted with to this day... My male is pretty cold nosed too...

Chop mouthed dogs.. They will and have run until they burnt holes in there pads.. Our female is about 40lbs.. She has convinced Nick to pack her out of trees before because her feet were so sore LOL..

They have no quit to them when it comes to cats.. All really nice stay put tree dogs...

We have found them to be the total package for cat dogs..

They could be I am sure... My female has probably seen maybe 30 coon her whole life.. She is 4.. We just don't have the population... And time LOL.. They are mainly just cat dogs..

I have a couple pups out of my above dogs that have been used strictly on coon and the people are very pleased with them... They seem to do well with whatever you put them on...

They start hunting as soon as they can keep up.. They are wanting to go by 4 and 5 months old... A few can keep up at 5 months... some have to wait until they are a little older.. But they have the want to really early.. Kind of spoils you when you are used to that and then try a pup out of something else that wants to start at 9 or 10 months old LOL

Either or... The whole family of dogs seem to be natural rig dogs.. We also cast them, but have them so they stick pretty close to us...

They make us happy most of the time They still frustrate the heck out of us sometimes.. But all in all we will keep feeding them..

Heck.. We cast as many as we have at the time generally.. We currently have 5 dogs that are hunting.. All but 1 is related.. And I searched long and hard for her LOL...

We coonhunt the same way 5 dogs at a time..

kaw river chief produced houses tomtom-produced houses clint -produced houses lipper. clint also produced a dog named midnight clipper who is the grandfather of credit river tucker who has produced many nice cold nosed track dogs.
considering the number of dogs off of lipper, I would say that kaw river chief is in most current dogs' pedigrees.

One of the greatest crosses in walker history....Kaw River Chief X Tinsley's Kansas Tess....where would we be today without the offspring these two produced?

If you like that old blood i own the frozen semen on Four-Way NiteCh 'PR' Coon Lake Force that was out of Spring Creek Dummy and Coon Lake Cindy she was out of Rock River Ring. Bring a nice female and get some good pups.
