Our male dog, Jebb, is 11 years old and is still going strong. He has been hunted really hard his whole life and I still hunt him about 4 nights a week, sometime more sometimes less. I actually just put a 2nd place and 5th place wins on him in the Nite Hunts within the last year, also he was just bred to our Dawn female last year and she whelped 8 healthy, big pups in July '07. We had him to the vet this past fall and he was perfectly healthy other than a few bad teeth.
As far as females go in terms of raising pups, as long as they still come in heat regularly and are healthy enough to raise a litter of pups, they usually do just fine.
So I would say as long as the dog checks out healthy at the vet it would be fine to hunt up to 4-5 nights a week; I think it keeps 'em young.....
Here is Jebb treed last month on a coon, he turned 11 in January. A little gray but happy lol.....
