LOL yep best kind!!!!!!!!! Those 22 bullets to the head are real effective. I've never seen one around here that looked like this. I killed 2 copperheads in the yard last year but nothing like this.

Try not to kill corn snakes, they're good to have around. There arent that many poisonous snakes around, so knwoing the difference is easy enough. Rattler, Copper head, Water Moc, and the rare Coral snake..thats all there are to worry about really/

Just wasn't sure about this one. My dogs had it real mad and it kept striking at me when I was trying to see what is was. Didn't want to take a chance!!! I know what they are now so I'll know next time. First time I've seen one here at my place. Also I saw another kind in the back pasture the other day. It was black with lime green stripes down its body, any ideas on that one?

Little snake trivia..............a corn snake is a species of rat snake, They are sometimes called a red rat snake.

It got the name corn snake cause they are often found in corn fields.

They come in a wide variety of colors in capitivity.

They make a great first snake for anyone new to having snakes as pets.

Worst snake bite I had was a 7 foot reticulated python........Hit my in stomach, arm, and leg.......left a few teeth in my arm.

Retics have a nasty attitude.

I use to own and breed many different species of snakes. You name it and I owned it at one time or another. Water monitors, poisonous foreign snakes, dwarf crocodile. and etc..

My wife on the hand refuses to be near snakes.......or have snakes in the house. They freak her out.

She was doing good to have tarantulas in the house.

She told me she didn't care how many dogs I had, but no snakes in the house.

The kids wants snakes, but she won't have it. There boys so they think they are cool.

I try to see the head & tail

If it has a "viper head" I kill them & if has a long, POINTED tail I take another look at the head. I have a wonderful black "chicken" snake hanging around my house catching mice - a very welcome snake along with numerous little lizards.

I stepped on a hognose when I was about 8 years old. Scared me to death. I ran and told mom there was a cobra in the yard. I don't think it is of the viper family though.

My little brother shot some video of one with the same markings as this one ONLY it was probably 6ft long. I've lived here most of my life and have NEVER seen this particular kind of snake before. It didn't stand up but it did flatten out it's neck like a cobra and just kept striking, it was very MAD.

Buckshot yep those Retics don't have good attitudes at all. I have a friend that had all sorts of reptiles when we were younger. 2 Burmese, a Red-Tail Boa, couple of Ball Pythons, a Nile Monitor, they don't have the best attitudes either. If I know what they are they don't bother me to bad. Had a BIG Cotton-Mouth in my grandma's yard last year, her cats had it surrounded, wish I'd got a pic of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
