Back around 1967 or 68,
I had the pleasure of meeting one of the Lee brothers. I am not sure anymore but I'm pretty sure it was Dale. I was in training camp with the Houston Oilers out at Kerrvlle Tx. & we had an off weekend. They loaded us up on tour buses & took us to the Y O Ranch. It was an exotic big game ranch, & they had about any kind of wild game there is, from all over the World. They split us up into small groups of about 5-6 to a group, & Mr. Lee was the guide for my group. He was in charge of "predator control" for the ranch. Got to see some of his dogs, & he had several different kinds of big cats way back off from the ranch house & guest bunk houses, behind some sheds. One of the things he showed us was a mounted Rattlesnake skin. It was inside of one of the bunk houses, over the entry door. I don't know how much of the head & neck were cut off, but it still measured 7 feet, 2 inchs long, & looked like it was about a foot & a half wide at the widest point.
I also remember that he said that he was getting ready to go to Central America for a Jaguar Hunt.
Now, you talk about some wide open spaces, they had it. He said that some of the pastures or fenced areas were around 10,000 acres each.
