Last nite we missed,

I hunted with my friend Tommy last nite,
We hunted with three Treeing Walker hounds, that usually do very well together,
Well last nite, everything just kind of fell apart, they hit a track that was cold as ice, and it took forever to put a tree on it,
We started in a Swampy Hardwood Creek bottom, went through a Pine Plantation, then through a Cutover, then ended up in a Big Marsh, where we saw a huge Stump Tail Moccason.
Well upon aproching the tree we saw the Coon, our Hounds had hung his last tap, and had missed him by about 30 yards.
We leashed our Hounds, and let the Coon go on about his way,
'He won' Hope we do better next time, but last nite, was rough.
How were your hunts? I was wondering if everyone had a bad night last nite.

almost always

We almost always tree somewhere, but not last night. Took a track through a patch woods, across a corn stubble field into another woods , she tapped twice and shut up. When we got there, she came into us, first time in the 6mo. we have owned her. My son was happy, it must of took 6mo. for the dog to make up to us. We were in a deer thicket so the old dog knew not to get into any trouble. The kitten coon were chattering in their dens. Time to stay out of the woods, plus alot of 24D smell in the stalks/ no till spray is getting heavy.

Glad it wasnt just us,

We were hunting in East Texas, we were just in some Government woods, The marsh we ended up in was just made up of Tall grass, and Cat tails about shoulder high, the tracks were thick in there.

Is 24D a chemical, used as a pesticide, Im not familiar with Farming Country, I have alwayse heard it was good hunting.

2 4 D

Burndown in notill bean ground on broadleaf weeds. Has a short residual in the ground. I wait 10 days to plant.
Yes, we have a fair amount of coon....
The air is heavy with farm chemicals...not good for dogs.
