? for ukc or anyone

me and a buddy was hunting lastnight. on our last dump we treed on a big den with a hole in the trunk. we could see fresh coon tracks in the snow at the hole opening. it got me thinking what if that would have been a night hunt could we have plus that tree? i know it says you need to see the coon but the tracks where there.

I have two mirrors, a lazer sighted video cam and a silenced 10/22 with a 90 degree bend in the barrel for shooting up into beech dens. A coon hits the bottom with a smok'in butthole gets plussed everytime. I learned all this and more from my hunt'in buddy who just won a world hunt. Really!!!!I'm serious.................

Ive met your huntin buddy. He sure seemed like a strait up, always go by the rules, honest abe, give you the shirt off his back, type fellar to me.

That gun haveing a 90 degree bend in the barrel sure does explain something though.

As for the original question on this thread, no you cant score on coon tracks for the simple reason that the coon in this part of the country have resorted to walking backwards to fool these walker dogs.. no kidding...

Was kinnda a joke...................I do carry it all the time hunting though and it works great!!!!!! First time I used it one of my pups got treed by himself and there was a hole at the base of the tree and I tryd for about 10 minutes sqaulling and wondering if the pup treed his first coon or not and finally gave up and took some pictures and walked back about to the truck and got the idea and went back and stuck the camera in there and sure enough the coon was sitting up there about 5 feet!!!!

JiM, are you sure I cant use it in the hunts?? LOL

Well if you can't use the mirror, then I guess that means the 90 degree barrel is out too.....

Though I agree with most of the rules of UKC this one I do not. I am opposed to not awarding plus points when the coon can be seen by any means short of digging, cutting, or attempting to harm the coon.
It is ridiculous to ask a dog to chase a coon to a place of refuge that is in the wide open. Especially when it takes plus points to win.
Just another rule made by retired coon hunters that want to brag they are on the board and stood firm to an outdated and ill advised rule.
