that she has hemoroids. She is very uncomfortable any other suggestions?

Anal Glands

Dogs have Anal Glands which when they get full or inflamed they get infected. They set at about 3 and 9 o'clock on the anus and that is what dogs ex when they poop to mark there spot. My dogs have to have this done all the time. I'm a Vet Tech and know how to express but have your Vet show you and you won't have to pay. It really stinks.

My dog has a problem also with her ummm butt. Took her to the vet and he said he didnt know what it was. The glands are good to go and she will jam herself in the corner of her pen so she call lick and bite her rear. It is all red and I guess chapped(LOL), but it only bothers her when she barks. Kind of wierd!!

YES

We have had dogs with hemoroids. The prep. H will work. (I was glad we had Prep H here from the old dawg... I needed it for a..... HEN!) I think diet can prevent it so the stool is not to Big or too hard. If I recall when we forst went we thought it was anal glands and I was VERY glad I hadn't expressed them... because it would have made the VERY sore hemoroids hurt more!

Shouldn't take long to clear up and I'm sure you vet will suggest a diet change. I know ours could not have rawhide chews etc...

Best of luck, Heather

PS..Bodger...LMBO... too funny!

That was one of the things that irritated this female the most as well.. she was an Incessant barker... ChopChop all day. Probably WHY she ended up in rescue as a pet.... When she barked her rear would protrude and it would irritate the roids. Prep H and diet worked with her. Unfortunately it couldn't take away her OTHER issues and she had to be put to sleep..... (BITING... CHILDREN....)

May be worth putting prep H on yours too, see if it heals it? Ask your vet.
Good luck on yours too, Heather

Thanks for Replies

Vet did express glands& said use the Prp H,. She seems better today not biting herself as much. Looked on Google found out
to use red wine vinegar or Witch Hazel , has anyone heard of
this?

Thanks again for all replies they are much appreciated.
