Give us the story on that one, Mike.

Did old Doc look pretty good on him?

left the house about 7:15 last night, walked down the creek about 1/4 mile till Doc started winding one, cut them loose struck about 100 yards from us, Doc struck first; burned the coon across 10 acres up a hollow, Doc located once and fell treed, Devil (Colt's dog) was only about a second behind him on both counts. When we got to tree they were both blowing the top out.

At first couldn't see anything, but finally after falling down a couple times climbing straight up hills on both sides of tree seen the coon about 50 ft. up in a big fork of the water oak.

I shot it in the butt, and it did a superman out of the tree. Didn't take long for the blue dogs to put an end to it.

back to the house and in bed by 8:00.

coon weighed 16 pounds.

good quick hunt for a lazy man.

You hear a lot of stories, but 16 honest pounds is a pretty good coon for that country.

In all the years I lived there, I only treed one coon that weighed over 25 pounds, and only about three 25 pounders that I can remember.

yea usually a 15 to 18 lb. coon is a big coon here, a few 20 pounders have started showing up in the last few years due to the fact so many people are putting deer feeders up now.

Last saturday night here a 26lb. 8 oz. coon won the big coon contest. Biggest one we have checked in since been having it for the last several years.

WooHooo!

Hounds look good! Both shiny and what nice heads That's a good sized coon to us too. Since we've seen 2 1/2(one was a kit road kill).... in the last 2 yrs here....ANY coon is big! LOL...
Your night sounds like a good one. So glad you guys have this great sport to do together. Hope you have a million more hunts just like this one!

HappyHunting! Heather

thanks heather

we try to keep our hounds in top shape.

the only body not in top shape in the photo is mine, I am too fat and slick. I would rather go with Colt ( my son) than anyone else, but I walk to slow to suit him most of the time.
