Just thought I’d touch base with everyone with the status of the Treeing Cur issue. I talked to Kim from NKC yesterday and she told me the NCFBA is just an association and not the registry and will not be able to host a NKC hunt that states “Cur and Feists, except Treeing Curs”. Just thought I’d let you know that this issue is over unless the NCFBA wants to become its own registry like OMCBA, KSBA etc…

Thank you for the support in this matter. The only thing I want you all to remember is that the Treeing Cur category is vast, but the one thing it specifically does is allow for honesty. This is beneficial to all of us who breed dogs. You don’t have to like them, own them or breed to them, but you are at least aware of what they are. Honesty is the best policy in breeding programs because one false move will come out in the wash when people continue breeding to a certain line.

I once again ask all Treeing Cur owners to support the NCFBA, help out at their hunts and show this organization what caliber of people our breed has behind them – we are salt of the earth people, who enjoy our dogs and don’t care what you’re hunting – as long as you like it and are in the woods.

On that…I’m going to a pie auction at Clay’s school and then I’m going COONHUNTING!!!!!

P.S. Last night when we went out on opening coon season night here in MO and Rat ran silent and made 3 squirrel dens that had fresh nut cuttings at the bottom, I wondered if he knew he was half-hound.
