Once Again the city of Chicago is trying to make us live by what they think is best. Please read the below and make the calls, send the emails and most of all pass it along !!!


The first bill is HB1294. This bill would require the ban and forced confiscation of every semiautomatic firearm you own.

The second bill is HB1599. If passed, this bill would increase jail time for owners of any guns banned by HB1294.

THE MACHINE PLAN IS CLEAR - THEY WANT TO MAKE IT A FELONY FOR YOU TO EXERCISE YOUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS!

These two bills are not just random attacks on your rights! They have been carefully drafted and coordinated by some of the Chicago Machine's most ardent gun grabbers to include: Rep. Edward Acevedo; Rep. Ann Williams; Rep. Greg Harris; Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie; Rep. Karen May; Rep. Carol Sente; Rep. Deborah Mell (Blago's sister-in-law); and Rep. Marlow Colvin.

IF THESE BILLS PASS, YOU WILL HAVE 90 DAYS TO SURRENDER YOUR GUNS TO THE POLICE OR THE POLICE WILL BE COMING TO YOUR DOOR TO TAKE YOUR GUNS TO THE FURNACE, AND YOU TO THE PENITENTIARY.

This is the beginning of what could be a very bad year for law-abiding Illinois gun owners. The Chicago Machine does not care about the 2nd Amendment and is dead set on taking your guns away from you. They are not patriots; they are not lovers of freedom; they are not Americans. These people have no respect for our Constitution or the ideals of liberty and self determination envisioned by the Founding Fathers. They know that private firearm ownership is the bedrock of liberty and, if they can take your guns away from you, then they will be able to condemn you and your family to a life of servitude - groveling before the Machine for life's necessities.

Mark here is another example of the chicago machine wanting to control everyone. this hasn't been introduced into the legislature yet but you can bet if emanuel is pushing for it then someone will introduce it sooner or later

From my understanding it is in committee right now and there are 5-6 Rep who are backing this bill. Of course all are from Chicago so if they don't gain any support outside of Chicago it will die. Problem is it is there, it is written so it will loom in the shadows for the right opportunity, then they will bring it on.

We the people of Illinois know this is BS, but we have to get our friends, farmers and other hunting groups to bann together, when the switch board lights up notice is taken !!! This is what we need to do to make sure these bills get sent to the shredder !!

do not believe that any of this proposed legislation will get any traction, but an indication of the ongoing attempt to disarm the citizen... important that we all remain vigilant- as stated contact elected reps. to voice opinions at all levels of gov't. join nra and other groups that support constitutional right to bear arms including concealed carry....

Illinois already has strickter laws than most states. If they pass a law like this it will be a domino affect. It's the 2nd worst state to retire in gettin to be the worst state to live in. Makes you wonder why people would elect a president from here. Not me

It amazes me how every other state is moving one direction with gun laws and the state of Chicago is going the complete opposite direction. When asked where I am from I say I live in a small town in the state of Chicago.

This must be the bill Eric holder said that he and Obama were looking at to use as the basis for a new federal gun control law. he spoke about it at one of the senate fast and furious hearings.
This is not just an Illinois problem, it is an American problem.

It may not be just an Illinois problem, but if any politicians from Illinois have anything to do with it then it is bad. I'm not originally from IL and I can tell you it was hard adjusting to all the stupid laws in this state. There is alot of overkill.

In a state that has 102 counties in it, and the Gov is elected with winning only 4 of them ....guess what you have the welfare, give me stuff people who are voting for these nuts, and these nuts can come up with some of the most stupid stuff I've ever seen or read.

Those of us from IL tried to tell the rest of America that Obama was a big mistake, he never did anything here so why would he be different in Wash ???

We have a state that want to be the model for being a Nanny-State, but those who want the free stuff just don't get it that someone has to work for them to get free stuff !!

Saw where Cat is moving its new plant to NC !! Good for them, businesses are running from Illinois, wish the state would offer to buy me out, they could house several families of welfare rats here and I could flee with the others

There's a big steel mill that closed down in my area that employed alot of people. This huge building was one of the spots Cat was looking at. This would have been a big help to a county that doesn't have any big businesses, but I don't blame them for not choosing Illinois. What a shame.

is closing here in mendota. this big book publishing factory, was once Wayside Press, of Full Cry fame. they published for Estelle Walker. now it is closed and more than 200 people have lost their job. del monte still has the food factory here and so do a few other companies, one which my husband works for. coming 38 years now! one realtor says, "the factory clsing means people will be forced to all but give their homes away." meaning, our real estate prices will plummet more. we have a new high school we're payiong for and this closing means loss of revenus for more than just employees.

what do i feel about illinois? still like it but we won't remain when richard retires. taxes, cost of living is very hard in this state and not just on retirees.

as for gun control laws? citizens have fought them continuously. chicago has the problem and we pay for it!!! all the way around.

will obama be voted out? brace yourself. only one of my neighbors voted for him. none of the others did...but he still got elected....

The arrest of Rita Crundwell, who was charged with a single count of wire fraud, has shaken the northwest Illinois town, which has a population of just under 16,000, according to the Chicago Tribune. Authorities say Crundwell stole the funds over six years to support her luxurious lifestyle.

Crundwell, an award-winning quarter horse breeder, spent the money on jewelry, a motor home, and her horse farms in Wisconsin, reports the Tribune.

Federal agents seized the contents of two bank accounts, seven trucks and trailers, three pickups, a $2.1 million motor home, and a Ford Thunderbird convertible -- all of which were purchased with illegal proceeds, according to federal authorities.

Dixon Mayor James Burke today told an audience of reporters and citizens that independent auditors had not noticed any issues of non-compliance and the city's bank had not noticed anything out of the ordinary, according to the Tribune.

The city will hire an investigator to determine how the alleged theft occurred
