kids competition question?

How do youth hunts work, what ages do the kids need to be? I ask this because my son has claimed my new plott female and they seem to be doing well together. She is very shy except when My son is around then she becomes his protector. My son has been wanting to hunt her and my wife has noticed that he is the only one to get her to position for a bench.

They go buy NT. CH. Rules, the kids are drawn out in two age groups 6 to12 and 13 to 17, although they hunt in diff. group all the scores go against each other when you get back to the club. Non hunting judges, and all dogs draw out togather( reg. nt.ch. and gr. nt.ch.) DO NOT let drawing out together detour you, we have many gr. nt. ch with reg. dogs and we do just fine. GOOD LUCK
