I know it's been done before, but can't find it on here. I'm getting ready to build and have a thousand ideas running through my head. Want to do it right the first time.
Any pics would be appreciated. I'll share whatever I do and maybe it will help someone else.

Heres a pic of my Kennel, They are not the best, but I am happy with them, I am hoping to "update" it soon. (the kennel is only 18 months old), but after doing some more thinking I have noticed a few things that will make mine better for me. Right now I have 5 runs that each measure 5x10 and 5 ft. tall, with the dog houses out side of the pen. Wood floors with a small slant so that the water flows towards the back of the pen (nice for cleaning.), automatic water, and a roof that keeps the kennel shaded all day and keeps them dry.
Things I am wanting to do different are eaither seal or compleatly redo the floor, (plain wood floors are a pain to keep clean.) I am going to put fans on the dogs, It just gets to hot in the summer time. (I still worry about my dogs having a heat stroke, even though they always have water and shade.) and I am eaither going to build a room in front of or beside the kennel (if in front of it will be the size of 3 of my runs and I will add two extra runs so that I have a full hall way in between.) but the room will be for food storage, and a whelping area. and I will be putting lights down at the kennel because it is so much trouble dealing with the dogs at night.
I dont know if any of that will help you, it might be more of a what not to do than what to do. lol.
but I Hope you are able to build yours exactly the way you want them so you want have to redo yours anytime soon. Good luck with your plans.

You can see my kennel I built for less than $15,000 and it's 30x40 ft. It's all tin. Have 7 indoor/outdoor runs on each side
and an office. At the end of the office there is a separate room with two whelping areas. I've got a baby monitor my wife got for me and her Shelties, and I can watch the puppies from the house.

this is my kennel that i am working on... it is 14x20 with 2 5x10 runs on each side. the dogs are housed inside the building. i also have the option of adding three more runs on if need be... hopefully i do not ever have more than 4 dogs at once lol!

if anyone needs blueprints etc... let me know!

box blading off the spot in the woods. Before and after pics. included. Still got another half day of box blading before I can even lay the first post. I'll keep the posted as I go along. I can only work on it about an hour or two a day every few days. Building house and got a ton of other stuff that has priority. I sneak off and do this while the wife is taking a break.
haha

I'm going slow so bear with me. This is a task trying to juggle house stuff and kennel stuff same time. I'm working from daylite to dark and a little after every chance I get.

i dont have a pitcher so you will have to pitcher it your head. but here is the type of dog house i use. its just like a normal dog house but, has like a hallway in front of the opening to the dog house so it has two openings.works great for keeping the rain out, and help keep the wind out so when it freezing out the wind dont blow right on him other then that just a normal chain link fence.

Yea I am up to my butt in gators right now. I have some pics of the land coming into where the home is going and some views from front and back and stuff kinda boring for other folks, but of course I am excited as all get out. Finally moving to the country.
My weekends are gone for the next two months. I've got to find some time to work with Boots, yep that is her. Right now I am letting her run and play all day in the woods. I've got 25 acres in the middle of about 300 that belong to my neighbors. So they have the run of the place. Going to be a puppy training paradise.
I'm sure thinking about keeping my next entire litter and have them running and treeing around 4 to 5 months old and then sell them 200 dollar pups for about a grand a piece.
These pups are going to be dynamite. Please take some more of Shelby Jr and post on here for me. My brothers is doing very well and loves petting. Just like yours and mine. Boots will cry for it. Darndest thing I've ever seen. She is so loud you won't believe it.
4 months old and mouth like a high screaming sirene.

Here's some more pics of our land coming into it, up what will be the driveway and then the house area. One of me working my butt off on the tractor grading off the house site.
I am only getting to work on the pen stuff a little each visit. So it will be a while. That's why I need more ideas. I've got a lot of material I have saved up for the past 10 years waiting to make this happen. It is a matter of building and back breaking work.
I've got some lazy brothers and one that is only half lazy. hahaha He's the best one of the bunch. He's my partner in crime and owner of a Shelby pup.
He is going to drive up from Tupelo and do some weekend gigs of building. That's about it. Me and him. I'm about to old to be lifting up 15 foot telephone poles into holes and such.

Funny you mention how load Boots is ! When I got home earlier today, one of the dogs in the kennel had a steady chop going on. I ask who the heck was being so load ? We were all guessing who it was. I said it Susie. Tyler said it was one of the Redbone pups(Same age as Shelby). Sam said nah, that wasn't a puppy. He said the bark was to deep and load for one of the pups. Well yeah it was, but it was Shelby and not one of the Redbones. We were shocked that she sounded so load up therein the kennels. The pups voices seem to be changing daily at this age. Supposed to get the DNA results back on the Redbones very soon. This DNA stuff has taken so long. These little guys need to get in some new hunt homes. They are ready for the woods. I'll get ya some pics of Shelby soon. Bye

Walker Girl, yours are sure neat and clean. Nice job. Like them all.

S/S I have boots in the pen with a very above average male that is about 9 months old out of Fletchers Jake and Boots is as loud as him and actually is louder because her mouth is real high pitched where his is real houndy. Can't wait to see any pics you have of any of your dogs. They are all nice. You know I like that Redbone Bo. He is nice.
