Back in the day when I used to shine my wheels and nerf bars on my truck I used mothers and an old T-shirt. Will that work on the dog box?

My husband uses Mothers power ball and Mothers metal polish to shine his wheels and tanks on his 18 wheeler. Power ball box says it can be used on diamond plate. He gets em at OReilly's. They work great. Jessica

I had a guy tell me at the hunt the other nite that he used neverdull on his box. It had been a week when i seen it,but it looked really good. Havent had a chance to do mine yet but i will try it.

If there is a napa auto parts store in your area they have stuff just for diamond plate that will do a super job.

if they still got it at napa ,try some stuff called

"MR.ALUMINUM".

this stuff ,you wash the dirt off the metal,,then wet it down with water,,take a sponge and rub the stuff all over the metal ,then mist the metal with water and it gets foamy like alkacelser,,let it set about 5 minutes and hose it off and let it dry,,,there will be a white film on it wipe it off with a clean dry rag...and then put your sunglass's on cause this stuff makes fueltanks shine like a mirrow..


got some stuff from tire shop in a black plastic bottle for $15 that wipes on ,turns black,wipe off and has a shine,,
you can get the stuff at the pilot truck stop too,,
but the mr. aluminum is a lot less work and a better shine..

I work in an aluminum manufacturing facility and the best thing for shining up aluminum is a rubber wheel or pad on a grinder or buffer and some jewelers rouge. You put those 2 together and your aluminum will look like chrome when it is done.

This shining the box is for the BIRDS!!! I need something that I can spray on there, let it sit, and then wash off!! Or I am going to leave the box the way it is. It will take me two weeks to get this clean this way.......

Coil cleaner, like you clean an A/C evaporater / condensor with works great. Spray it on , 30 sec, hose it off. Shines like new money. Cleaned my whole 24' stock trailer with it. Cut it about 25 - 50 % with water in a garden sprayer. Try 25% first, if it doesn't work good enough, add more acid. It's probably about the same thing as that pipeline stuff the other guys are talking about. Get it at a heating and A/C parts place.

i havevnt tried to tackle mine yet, will soon thou, its gettin icky lookin. in this heat i dont veen use a dog box, i rig a chain up with small little chains coming off with brass snaps on the end just click the dog to that. works great,and a lot cooler than abox, people in town kinda give you a weird look tho with a pack of dogs int he back.
