It usually depends on the area you live in and the level of quality care the hospital is providing. In our area it ranges from 55-250 with the lower end being the dog shelters and the higher end being the higher quality hospitals. I'd say a national average between 100-150 would be about right for most veterinary hospitals. Certified technicians utilized, pre-operative bloodwork, high quality anesthetics, IV fluids, anesthetic monitoring, pain control usually costs more.

Here it depends on weight but small dogs it is $55. and the largest dog is $100. I am glad we have them good ole Country Vets!!!

I have used casterrating bands used on calves. It will look bad for a few days but heal without a scar. The dogs I've done show no sign of discomfort after a minute or two, then it's numb.
