Enclosures

Had Somebody ask about Running Trials in Enclosures..What is UKCs Rules on this??? Went over the site and Rules and Cannot locate anything on it...
Can you hold a hunt in an Enclosure or pen???
Does a hunt have to be held in the Wild??
If a person had a club available with say a couple pens
like 50 or 80 acre enclosures can they hold a trial in them?

Can Somebody point me in the direction of any rules about it?
If not I will call UKC Monday.
Just figured Somebody on here would know..
Thanks
TC

I believe you can run a winners pack in an enclosure though.

you know I kind of miss read the rule no 1 on the back of the score card. it sez you must run a wild rabbit, hare that is native to the area nothing about enclosure. Is an enclosed rabbit, hare wild? that would be my only qustion.

The answer to your question is YES and NO.
I asked this question a while back because there was a guy with a big enclosure wanting to start a club. Todd Kellem told me that you could run in a pen as long as the cast wasnt competing against another cast running in the wild. Another words one cast couldnt run in the pen and another run in the wild. In most cases the only time you could run in the pen would be the winners pack of the trial since the winners pack would be the only cast left and wouldnt be competing against another cast.

?

I was told some time ago that you could run in a inclosure as long as you were not competeing for high score such as you would be in hound and hunter forum. Then only the winners pack could run in it. aluminator style where you compete for cast win only was ok. Performance Pack would be ok.

Roy,
I thought the same thing but Kellem told me that although they are not competing for a score like in HB they are still competing for the top 10 placements. I was told that it was winners packs only unless all casts could run in pen.
