performance points issue? maybe.

So, does anyone think, that now with the performance dogs out there, people are holding them back a little, only taking thier dogs to the hunts that are a little bigger. They won't go to the hunt that will have 4 or 5 dogs, wait till next week, 15 dogs at that hunt.

I don't know about anyone else...but I know I'm selective about which hunts I take mine to.....

Why finish a dog with fractions of a point vs. several points?

I'm not sure this is a "bad" thing though. The days of going to the "easy" hunts simply to put a title on a dog may be short lived....

Why would this be an issue? People with good confidence in their dogs to take them to a bigger hunt.

Has the importance of winning a title been replaced by the importance of winning points?????

I hold back from going to the small hunts and I don't have a performance hound. I want competition and don't care if I get beat a time or two. When I get a top performance hound, they will be entered in the hunts with several hounds. Why not???

This was the reason the change was made this year to maximize the top pay at any one event to 2 points. I can't see waiting for a big hunt just to earn 2 points. I'm always looking to finish one and get started on another. JMO.

I was just wondering, if people thought, this will keep the small hunts, even smaller?
