Breed Suggestions?

I have Rat Terriers right now and thinking about adding another breed to the pack. I am looking for suggestions please!

Here are my criteria:

Short to medium hair
No larger than about 60# full grown
A squirrel/coon dog....the more versatile the better!
Prefer UKC registered as I bench show and hope to hunt there too.

Here is the "kicker" I want an "American Made" breed. One that has originated here in the USA. What would be even best would be one made in KY, my home, or SC, my adopted home.

So suggestions please?

Ravenov, If you want a dog that is better than the people you hunt with, try a leopard cur. According to the history on the leopards, they were brought here in the year 1524 by Hernando DeSoto, the Spanish Conquistador. Of course, I know that not everything you read is true and I doubt that this is. Richard McDuffie started the registration office for the leopard curs in 1965 and printed a book called "General Information on the American Leopard Cur". Most all of the history on the leopards is the same as what the Catahoula breed history states. I think that McDuffie just copied it from their book. Hence, the american leopard cur.
They are nice dogs and that is all I hunt. They would be worth a try. Dan N

Breed

I hunt the L.H. Ladner Blackmouth Cur. They wind game and drift a track are good treedogs. They hunt with you and are easy to break off unwanted game. Calll L.H. Ladner 601 796 2150

Everything you mentioned says Mountain Cur. Sounds like the dog you are looking for.
