Ravenov, If you want a dog that is better than the people you hunt with, try a leopard cur. According to the history on the leopards, they were brought here in the year 1524 by Hernando DeSoto, the Spanish Conquistador. Of course, I know that not everything you read is true and I doubt that this is. Richard McDuffie started the registration office for the leopard curs in 1965 and printed a book called "General Information on the American Leopard Cur". Most all of the history on the leopards is the same as what the Catahoula breed history states. I think that McDuffie just copied it from their book. Hence, the american leopard cur.
They are nice dogs and that is all I hunt. They would be worth a try. Dan N
