I once went to a hunt in the month of June and it was hot as heck. The female I took was coming into heat and I did not realize it. We got out of the truck to make the first drop and all the male dogs were going crazy. The judge asked if she was in heat and of course I told him that I did not think so. Before we cut loose, a pack of deer/fox hounds ran right through the bottom we were going to hunt so the guide wanted to go to another spot. We loaded up and moved. All I had in the truck was a can of Deep Woods Cutter bug spray. I spray this all over her bottom. When we got ready for the second dump the male dogs all got out of they box and smelled her one time and we went hunting without any more trouble. I don't know how far along she was in heat but that treatment worked for me that one time!

First I would wash her off amnd get the smell off her back end then put some carmax (chap lip stuff) on her. If you use vix every one will smell it encluding the other handlers.

I agree, the last thing you would want is her getting breed better to not take the chance

No Scent

You can use no scent deer spray that you use on your body when you go hunting. They got the soap and different. It does work and works well. You can get it at wal Mart around deer season or hunting stores.

I don't think he saying she is 9 days in, just started I think? I would't want to hunt her in prime time heat.

Vicks Vapo-Rub works no doubt about it. Spray her down with no scent deer spray and get you a glove and lather her up with the vicks...I know someone who knows someone who went all the way from SC to AL to hunt in the AKC Nationals with a female who was going out of heat. Hunted all night in AL and rode back to SC and hunted a RQE in SC the next night. Won one of two casts and hunted with 5 male dogs in those casts and not a bit of trouble. The males get wind of the vicks and STAND BACK. Like I said that was the friend of a friend. : )

A good bath followed by either of the following: Heat-X, Vic's Vapor Rub, Polo Cologne, Gold Bond Foot Powder etc........ Sure there are more out there that have been used.
