O.K., I'll start, lol. My family and I are lucky to hunt a really nice farm that we have to ourselves but part of the deal is, we are expected to harvest 10 doe off of it. First morning for me was Saturday. 1 down, 9 to go! Hope to get the doe killing done before the rut starts. Then we'll get serious!

I finally drew a bighorn sheep tag this year after applying for 25 years. This is as close as Wyoming has to a lottery. Hunted for 12 days and got this one September 12th. He was at 11,700 ft. in elevation. The air is pretty thin up there.

I shot this deer on October 14th, the next to the last day of the season. It had been hot the first 10 days of the season. Then we got an early winter storm with several inches of snow. The first major storm of the season really gets the deer stirred up and I was able to get on this one.

Nice animals Dick, Bill and Jeremy. Hunting sheep in that kind of terrain has got to be a blast. Beautiful. I'm like Kellam. Tagged a nice doe two weeks ago. Nothing to brag about other than the grilled backstraps rolled in cheese, onions and bacon this weekend were fantastic!

Thanks Jeremy. And congrats on the whitetail. I sure wish they grew that big around here.

Allen, you're right about the terrain. I think that's a big part of what makes sheep hunting so special. There's something about glassing them two to three thousand feet above you on those rocky slopes that make them almost magical. The picture of mine is a little deceiving with the relatively flat grass plateau. For most of the hunt I was in terrain more like you see in the background of the picture. And frankly, it can be pretty intimidating. These are a couple of pictures taken from the valley floor looking up at what you would be glassing for sheep.

Bill thats just cool. Hey I noticed the Browning hat but I have to guess here but it looks like a rem BDL in a McMillan stock maybe 300 win mag wearing a leupold scope? Gotta lay the equipment on us.

Good eye Jeremy! Early in the season I met a man from Meteetsee, Wyo ( I was hunting about 30 miles west of Meteetsee) and after some conversation learned that he builds long range hunting rifles. His name is John Burns and his company is Greybull Precision. The rifle I used was one of his. He builds them off a Remington 700 action. He has some company build his stocks for him. I'm not sure which company but they're John's design and he's always tinkering with the design. The scope is also his design but Leupold makes them for him. He builds the gun in .243, .264 and 300 mag. I used his .243.

I spent an afternoon shooting with him. His system for long range shooting, or precision shooting as he refers to it, is truly amazing. After just a little practice I was able to consistently hit a 12" x 16" target at 970 yards. I never would have even imagined ever being able to do that before this experience. Of course he was the one making all the calculations for windage and trajectory and telling me how to set the scope, and that's the most difficult part of long range shooting. I shot my ram at 300 yards.

Dang guys those deer are dang fine whitetails. I haven't been out with a weapon in my hand yet for the whitetails, but my oldest boy has added some meat to the freezer.

Maybe, this weekend.
