Who Would Be Interested

I have a small farm in Northern KY And thinking of building a starting pen for Squirrel dogs in 1 to 2 acres of my back woods, being fenced in by woven fence and one gate, having a few squirrel feeders placed in them, and useing my older dogs to help start the young. Also thought might do few coonhounds pups on coons. I have a 8' X 16' concrete kennel know and this spring to build other kennel. Just thought I would throw this out to see if other people would be interested in this. I have had for a few years of feeders placed on our farms for coon and squirrel and have hunted and started many hounds and sq: dogs for my friends, and a few reg, clients. We have around 300 acres to hunt. We hunt hounds and sq: dogs know for people.
Give me a shout.

Bill, just wanted to make you aware of a new Wildlife regulation.

301 Kar 2:015 Feeding of Wildlife. You can enter the KAR in a search engine and find it.

I have a few acres here I have feeders up to work my young squirrel dogs on but evidently turkey take precedent over our interests.

Pens as you describe are great for starting pups and most likely wouldn't fall under the regulation but you might want to give some thought to the feeders on your farms. Maybe contact your local CO and District Wildlife Commissioner about it.

In a nutshell......this regulation makes it illegal to feed wildlife(all wildlife) from March 1 thru July 31 except in your yard.

To date, the only thing I've been able to determine this regulation does is create a crime.

I don't mean to hijack your thread. Just didn't want you to get surprised by the men in green.
