Mr. Glista --------- I'm glad you like your dog, and I am sure he is a nice one. You don't win as many casts as he has won if you're hunting junk. I would surely like to see him go if I ever have the chance. I do wish you would run him in some PKC events, I believe you would enjoy them, especially the Pro hunts. Some of the best dogs in the country compete in the pro hunts, and it gives you an opportunity to compare your dog to others of equal caliber in an open, non-biased competition with an impartial judge. It has been my experience that, once you get to a certain plateau with dog power, the dogs are fairly equally talented, but have different styles that may benefit, or penalize them, on any given night. That being said, the dog that gets the breaks usually wins the cast, the experience is usually enjoyable, and you get to see other great hounds operate. At the end of the night, win or lose, you will probably be glad you have the dog you are hunting on the end of your leash, and that is all that really matters. The positive is, win or lose, your dog gets exposure, and you get to hunt with some great hounds and great guys. Give it a try, I believe you will be hooked.
