thanks everyone for your concern.
...it was abad deal . ihad a heatlamp on a female that was getting close to welping, and that is what caused the fire. i have used heat lamps for 20 some years and never had any trouble until now. if you are useing them , check everything over and make sure everyyhing is safe.
the dogs i lost were....grntch spooner's stylish luke
.....................................ntch harry's stylish dead ringer
......................................stylish jewell
.......................................harry's stylish no fear
........................................james river sassy she had a belly full of pups out of ringer.
my uncle phil and his son jesse have our top tittled females at there place so i can start over. i just thank the lord it was not our house. all these things can be replaced except the time.
.......................................thanks again and god bless

Dang, I'da never thought such a thing could happen! But I have heard of heat lamps causing fires in chicken and hog barns. Guess it could happen in a kennel too. Sorry to hear of your loss.

thanks again everyone. you know this is such a terrible thing it makes me sick, i just keep going back and thinking if i would have just set things up better . it's just such a horrible loss.
...we were just now finding out that old luke was probably one of the best reproducers we've had in a long time.
..the pups that were on the way were out of a female from luke bred to ringer . this would have been the 6th generation of these dogs starting with old ceder hill sass.
..i'm not going to quit though , i can start over.i have some very good freinds and family helping out. they are the best.
.like i said before all this is replacable. thanks

Sorry to hear of your loss. I couldn't imagine how I'd feel. That's a great attitude to take, you can't quit. Jim Ridge didn't quit when he lost Houdini and look at what he's done. It is possible and lots of people are pullin for ya Jay.

God Bless

Sorry for your loss...
We had a heat lamp above our pups in barn and my son happened to bump it and it exploded. Hay caught fire and thankfully my husband was there and got it put out. Pups were about 3 months and none were touched. I don't know if the bulbs explode when defective or what. But it was scary. Good luck and don't quit.....

Sorry to here of the loss. Heat lamps always made me nervous.
Now I hang a little electric heater with a thermostat on the side
of the box and a thermometer on the other side. It works
great, I can keep the temp. where ever I want it and turn it down
gradually as the pups get bigger. Had one that didn't get hot
on the outside, the one I have now I built a box around so
they can't get burnt.
Keep your good attitude, Scott

thanks , you all are great , and it strengthens me and my attitude to know there are so many thoughts and prayers for us.
....man it sure is quiet around here. who ever would think i would miss steping out the back door and hollering at those dogs to hush up. this is the first days in 20 some years that i didn't have dogs to tend to.
...the members of the north dakota coonhunters said they want to help me rebuild my kennel, man that means alot to me, i didn,t realize how many good freinds i really had. they and you all have made this time bearable.
