Last Night's Hunt (1/20/07)
Last night, my friend Kevin and I decided to make a drop. It was about 20 degrees out and we had my male, Jebb (he turns 10 today), my 9 y/o pregnant bitch, Queen, and his 2 y/o gyp, Mel. There was some snow on the ground and we figured we would end up at a den. Anyways, we took em out at about 7:00 and cut em on the edge of a cornfield with woods and a crick. They got down in and struck a hot one within 30 seconds and moved it out pretty quick. Then the older two went one way and the younger female went the other. Jebb and Queen got treed way down the crick aways and Mel got treed closer to us the opposite direction of the other two so we went to her first. She was treed real hard on an old hawthorne tree with a big tree leanin over on it so we gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured the coon went up the Hawthorne and down the leanin one. So then we walked to the other two and they were treein hard off and on and we were jokin that they were making out cause we are expecting pups out of that cross. lol. We finally made it to em and they were treed on a huge, old, HOLLOW den. The tree was hollowed out at the bottom, I could look straight up, into the middle of the tree, and see a few blobs so that must've been what those two were up to. I got some real good pics that I will post as soon as I get em developed. Well just wanted to share that with everyone, thanks for reading. Feal free to post your hunts.
