How's the moonlight hunting going

This bright ole moon has slowed ours down a bit. Still treeing a few, treed two tonight and was back home by 9:15. Didn't wan to press my luck LOL! Seems we have been treeing mostly laid up coons not much for tracks.

Moon...

Didn't affect my hunting party the other night. We made our first drop around 8:00 and ended the hunt around 1:30 that morning with 9 coon. The moon was so bright we didn't need our lights while walking through the woods.

I hunt here in Va and Nc and we have had a time of it going on two weeks now. We are just having a really hard time hitting a track. And when they do it's a den. And its the same for most people in the area. Tracks are always hard this time of year though!LOL. Just part of the game so we are just dealing with it.

ALSO...

NOT ONLY ARE THEY RUNNING FOREVER, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE ON THESE LIGHT NIGHTS WHEN THEY CAN SEE SO MUCH BETTER, THEY ARE JUMPING OUT.

WE HAD ANOTHER ONE JUMP ON US LAST NIGHT. WITH QUINCY AND MICHAEL UNDER THE TREE!

MAYBE WE JUST GOT CRAZY COONS IN WESTERN NC! LOL

we went out at 6:30pm last night. the dogs treed one really fast. but it went up into a tall pine and we saw eyes for a brief moment and then nothing. went up the road and let loose again. the dogs trailed it a loooong way. into a ravine and then up a hill. we got a big old boar out of that tree. wish i had thought to bring a camera. the light of the moon was so bright wouldn't have needed a flash. lol. had kids with us so we ended it at 9pm.

too

it took 2 hours to find a track got that one out of the tree then turned loose again and he treed about 30 minutes later but when we got about 100 yards or so from him coyotes ate him up and he ran back past us and jumped in the boat scared lake a little baby. we left an when we got hom i notices a cut on his head and all swolled up. i think this moon is kepin the coons up and the coyotes out.

Last night the dogs were out of hearing when they struck on the first drop and we found them treed about a mile away on a den tree. Next drop was a real quick strike and they treed about 500 yards away in a huge patch of Hemlocks. Never did see a coon but had a nice time. The weather here is much warmer than normal. Hitting the mid to high fifties during the day and supposed to hit 62 this Saturday.

The dumb ones are dead, has very little to do with the moon. They run like the wind. If you're catching coon now you're packing a coon dog, if you're not it's time to upgrade.
