Oregon is bobcat only.. We can run coons and yotes too, but I don't consider them big game...

California= bear and bobcat

Idaho= bear, lion and bobcat

Montana=lion and bobcat

Colorado=lion, bobcat and I am not sure about bear

And I believe you can hunt all 3 Utah.

Washington is bobcat and I believe they have some units on a draw tag open for lion.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.. Trying to remember off the top of my head LOL

Utah= Bear, Lion and Bobcat. But here they are all three concidered small game animals.
We also have alot of year long lion units and 3 differrent seasons for bear. Bobcat is our shortest season which runs from Nov to the middle of Feb

i was reading about ny having a training season for bear. wish pa would do something like that.

the reason i was asking about large game is the wife and me are moving in two years when our daughter gets done with high school. the problem is we don't have a clue where we want to live. we just know we don't want to live where we're at right now. lol i always wanted to hunt sometihng other then coon with my dogs. i think i need to go out and do some large game hunting before we decide on an area jsut because of large game hunting.

i was wondering how do you get the dogs to run what you want? say your hunting lions in bear country how do you get them to run the loins and not the bears?

thanks

I would concsider W. VA. good taxes and Good seasons except Deer.. Bear all year long .. Move Close to the Va. line and for $128
You can hunt Small and Large game here.. Kinda get the best of both States.. But that all depends on the type of work you do or Don't.. Its good around Trout Pond W.Va.. and land prices are going up their..

We don't want to go any further south, just move east or west. I can't handle the heat at all.

But we do love VA and WV Mountains. We take a trip every winter down thru them just to get away from the lake Erie snow.

we're thinking Olean NY, Pulaski NY or Bradford, PA. then like you said hunt both states, and the trout fishing is great in them areas also.

our daughter is planning on going to Williamsport, PA for college so we kind of want to stay close to her.

This is going to be a hard decision to make, but one I'm looking forward to making.
