Yea

Get a dog in put the magnet in to track another dog. Then cut'em loose at the next spot and forget to take it out! Happens everytime.

Now do you really think,

that US BIG TIME HUNTERS, out here would ever forget, & leave a MAGNET IN A COLLAR, LOL

Heck, I even forgot to take a STOP BARKING COLLAR off of my young female last spring, that was just starting to run good. Heard her start to open , then start SQUAWLING, thats when it dawned on me what I had done. My EXCUSE IS, I'm GETTING OLD & SENILE.

Don't worry, it probably won't be the last time that you forget to take a magnet out.

Hope you find him soon????

some thing similar

I didn't leave the magnet in but I got the tracker out to track my old dog one night a couple weeks ago and the dang switch had gotten turned on in the carrying bag and the unit was completely dead.

Fortunately ,we walked a little ways around a hillside and found her treed.

Hope your hound comes back in .....Most times they will

Chrys,

No, it didn't ruin her, but it made her open slower for about a month or so. She still doesn't open as quick as I would like for her to open up.

Chrys & Shannon,

it opens Nov. 10th.

I'll try to pen some pets up, so we don't have to walk so far. I don't like to get more than about 1/4 of mile from the Truck, you know. Especially since they been seeing a few of those big ole pussy cats around this area.

I just hope we don't have a bunch of rain right before season opens, because I have a couple of nice spots on some big creeks, & when the water gets up we'll have trouble crossing.

LATER

I was on a cast one night that at the first tree, we all realised EVERYONE had forgot to pull the magnets. Boy we were a hard core bunch.

A week or so ago, I left 2 young dogs out. They were "exercising" a little to much for my taste, so I said Ill fix you. Next morning I went back, got the tracker out, pin pointed one dog, and went to get her. I found her collar hung up on a stick in a dozer pile. No dog just a tracking collar. Talk about a sinking feeling. I found the other dog, along ways away from there, and luckly both dogs were togather.

he might have found a dead deer or something and is staying with it,three times this year we had dogs gone for over a week becaulse it was so thick where they wer they didnt want to go threw it but when they get hungry enough they always come out.
I bet he come's out in a day or two, dont give up he's mostlikely fine.

I've forgot mine a couple times.Once while tracking another dog put my magnet in and forgot to take it back out.Now I just take the whole collar off.The other hunt was on the late round at the spring SS.I was lucky that night. She got in a big cave like hole but 2 others were outside it treeing. If not for them she would still be in Indiana.Took over an hour to get her out of the hole.

This is what we used to do before we had a tracking collar, plus we always left a snack cake with the coat. Our dog was always there the next day.
