Dog Theives

Well I had it.Tonight the wife and I got awoken by our rotty. So I put on my pants and go out.My hound was gone.So the wife lets our rotty go.She finds my hound and the guys that took him down on the railroad tracks. She had bitten them. Now I have to pay a fine for my dog biting someone who stole my hound. How can I win this and not have to put my rotty down. She was doin what she was trained to do.

sounds like they got what they deserved. Good luck with the other part. Were they still on your property, could help? I'll say a prayer for you anyway. I hope things work out for you.

...

not sure how u would beat it...if u have to go in front of a judge i would definately tell about ur hound being stolen and why u did what u done...tell him that u normally keep the dog under control but u had him do what u trained him to do and served his perpose...all u wanted was ur hound back...

maybe things will work out to ur advantage since they was stealing...

WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK

I feel they got what they deserved. I dont know if they can put a Rot down that just happens to run away or disappear, but oh well maybe in a few weeks or so after the Rots disappearance you find an identical one to replace the one that ran away. Wish you the best of luck.

I am not sure what you do... But if you are charged criminally tell them you can not afford an attorney and get one from the public defenders office. If it is only a ticket for letting the rottie loose, you will go to the local magistrate. Just tell the truth, you turned out the rottie to find your hound... Low and behold two theives were making off with him.... The rottie was protecting the hound from strangers. When you learn their names Post em on here..

Better get a lawyer. Criminals have more rights than victims of their actions. And dont forget to go file charges against the crooks for criminal tresspassing and theft of dog(livestock). Give the law enforcement agency a copy of the dogs papers and a high value and it will become a higher crime. Most states consider dogs livestock property and its a felony to steal them.

I hope you make out okay. This a good lesson for all of us. Keep voting in bleeding heart liberals and they keep putting liberal judges on the bench. This is the reason criminals have more rights that law abiding citizens. Good luck with you case.

take the rottie to your folks farm and hide it... Don't let them do anything to it.

There isn't too many people worse than a dog thief in my book. I am pretty sure that somebody stole one of my week and a half old pups night before last. She was gone Sunday morning, and we couldn't find any sign of her.

Ya know I normally don't have any use for a biting dog of any kind.

In this case you better be buyin that wonderful dog a big, juicy STEAK.

Be proud your dog did what she was supposed to do. If you have to go to court I can't imagine you losing based on the info you provided here. You turned a guard dog loose while you were being robbed, then the guard dog did what she was supposed to do.

Give her a big hug for me and don't forget the steak.

I would also have to say that I am one for playing by the rules all the time, but if she hasn't ever bit anybody before and they tried to put her down for doing her job, well she would just get stolen herself one night. I got a feelin I could find one that looked just like her a few months later and I bet they would coincidentally be the same age.

LOL.

Well, on the bright side it sounds like these two just may have a stand up dad??

He came and met you face to face and said whatever they get they deserve. If he really means that then there is hope for these kids cause he won't put up with crap like that.

Course people can say anything they want, it's what they actually DO that counts.

Well the father and oldest son came over this morning. We sat and drank some coffee and talked about what happened. The oldest one came up with the idea of takin my hound. And like the dad said your lucky he called his dog off.The dad seems to be a stand up man.He told his son. That he is making him come over to my house and help me on whatever needs to be done. The son apologized. But i told the son.I have no respect for a theif. His dad told him in order to gain a mans honor and respect is to give honor and respect. So now his son is really not looking forward to coming to my house and helping me out.But he knows what i have got to get done.He was also told by his dad.If he don't show up here at my house. He won't have a theif and dishonest person living in his house.

don't know how old the boy is

but it sounds like he really wanted a hound! Since his dad was willing to hold his son accountable, it sounds to me like he still could turn out o.k. Maybe you can get the kid interested in hound hunting on a more honorable level? Might teach him some responsibility and help keep him out of more trouble. Meanwhile, do be careful if you let a proven thief hang around your home and kennel! Make sure you keep an eye on him!

Here is what you do. This may sound cold but oh well. Go to a pound and adopt a Rot hell there are 5 in every pund. Turn it back into them and tell them to go ahead and put it down. Let them kill thier own. While you keep yours.
