Good hounds/Good women.

All you guys that have good dogs and GOOD WOMEN in your lives need to be very thankful for both.

My wife of 53 years is my biggest and most faithful "booster" with my hounds. They become just like family to the both of us.

I usually NEVER sell a dog, they usually are born here and die here. However, a few years back, I felt that I needed to "cut back" and priced a young one and she found the price was to be $1,000. She told me that this price would "not be a problem, and she wanted top buy himn from me. We kept him 'til he died here. She still owed me $1,000 LOL.

Recently, I felt heavily overloaded for my age 72 w/ 3 dogs doing very well and 2 pups coming on.

After pricing the Sowder male to John Garlitch, who she didn't know, she raised her offer on Sowder $1000 more than I was asking. John and I had a little fun w/ this but Sowder went home w/ John.

After meeting and talking w/ John, Mrs. Grubbs is very pleased that John has him.

Needless to say, we both love these hounds.

NO, we were never serious about exchanging money between the 2 of us, but she is a GREAT supporter to me on everything.

If you have a woman like that, be very PROUD and THANKFUL.

Nice Post!

Great to hear about the great relationships! I think my husband Bob and I have one that's pretty great as well. As for Sowder going to John... I was SO PLEASED to see that he did not sell out and leave coonhunting after he lost his wonderful hound. It had saddened me to see him wanting to leave. When I read that he had found you and your hound I KNEW this woudl be the right thing for both of you, and now I know for your wife as well!
I hope you and your wife have a million, billion more years together! I know I am thankfull every day for Bob and the kids, HappyHunting! Heather WIlliam
