walker dog accuracy?????????

Heres a poll to get some folks opinions. What is the best tracking or most accurate treeing line of walker dogs you have seen???????????????? Remember folks, I'm not asking which line trees the hardest, or barks the loudest, or even runs the track the fastest neccessarily or is the quickest to tree. I'm just talking tree for tree and turnout for turnout the most ACCURATE bloodline overall. Thanks guys.

Would have to go with the Filney River bred hounds. Which Pac-man and Clover both are Finley River bred.

You should know better than to ask such a general question sheep......

You will find dogs out of almost any line that miss too much, and some on the other end of the spectrum.

A couple years ago I would have given you a dog that was 100% accurate, she never missed.....Of course, if you hunted her hard all week she might only tree you 1 or 2 ccon.

Dont let accuracy be your only criteria, The good ones will be accurate enough.

The most accurate

I ever hunted was the Original Finley River Dogs(Mike and Boone) and the early Neosho River Dogs(Jet, Gunner and Checkers) But due to the influence of breeding for overpowering tree dogs they have all (Walkers in general)become less than good on their accuracy. Resuklting in my swapping to Black and Tans.

Sheep
I hunt with a really nice Sackett Jr son very accurate. I also hunt with alot of pups out of this dog and they are also very accurate. My male dog shows Sackett Jr in his 3 gen twice and I would say he is 75 to 80%. Some dogs are naturally accurate and some need a little training on the slick trees. But there are good and bad in all the bloodlines and breeds. Good luck in your quest on finding your special hound.

Sheep,
What I have hunted with and seen from the walker bloodline is that the Hardwood Bozo line is very accurate and old clover/lone pine stuff seem to be pretty accurate as well.......I had a female out of Hardwood Patch that was the most accurate dog I have followed, although she may not make 8-10 trees in a 2hr hunt but the ones she did make counted..........I would also classify Tar Rattler and Nailor as the same.......I have seen both slick treeing fools and dogs that had the meat........I also Love the old Merchant dogs top of the line hounds and were coon dogs....Bawlie, barney, banjo, banjo2 lot of good honest Coondogs........Bounty is a pretty nice hound as well....2 dogs that stand out in my mind for accuracy would be Mike Kirks Stylish Bozo and Hard Wood Henry........These two dogs rarely miss and I mean rarely!!!!
Just my 2 cents take it for what it is worth.
Steve
