garmin 300 and tt25 limited range

I have a new gamin 300I and 3 t25 collars. also I have multiple t15s. I have had Garmin's since the beginning. So I thought I knew most everything.

Any way, I bear hunt. I have all these collars on dogs turned loose at the same time. My tt25s wont track over 300/400 yards. My t15s track a very long ways, right beside the T25.

So I pulled out my trusty 430 and I can track the tt25 good. Why is the garmin 300I not tracking them if the 430 is. I dont mean long distance. I mean it loses at 400 yards and the 430 tracks them from 400 till they run clear out of range at a mile,

Ive never got good range with any garmin alpha.Ive had a 100,200,and 300.Ive not noticed my tt15s having better range than my tt25s but they might.A longer antenna on your tt25s may make a difference if they dont have the longer antennas on them now.Thats the down side to any alpha.Ive never seen a mile.I do hunt hills tho.I also hunt closer hunting hounds now so its rarely a issue for me.If garmin wants to make a huge improvement in their alphas then getting better range should be top priority.Must be hard to do.Its odd your old alpha gets more range. You should find someone with a 300 and see how your collars do with theirs.Something may be wrong with your 300.

Alpha 300

I have the 300 not the 300i but don't know if that makes a difference. I like everything about the 300 but the range. I have 2 TT25's and one get's much better range than the other but my buddy has the 200i and both collars get better range with it than the 300. No idea what the problem is.

T20 VS T5

The T20 that I just constantly loose connection at 200-300 yards less than the T5 on an Alpha 100, same when comparing to TT15 and TT10 I have a 300 that Ill compare tonight. My upgrade is actually a down grade. I also tried downloading new software and that helped, but not much. Hope someone has the answer
