Just watched a documentary on medications that people can't afford and end up going to Mexico for cheaper alternatives. Problem is there's a huge black market of a-holes making fake product. So who's to say the heartworm meds we're buying for our hounds from Canada and Australia are legit ??

Here in the good old USA some of these products are way overpriced…having to get a prescription from a vet ensures Keeping the costs of these meds up…

Just this January a bill was passed for American vendors to not be able to sell antibiotics without a veterinary prescription…the reasoning behind this bill is rather week but it keeps the veterinarians employed…i loaded up before the final date…

Yes, fake products exist from the fake flea collars to other meds. We have to be extra cautious when buying any product off the internet. I usually buy from Chewys, but got a bad batch of flea collars from Chewys last year and had a real flea problem, called Chewys and discussed problem with them, they refunded my purchase price and hinted that the manufactor may have changed what they put in the collars. I at least got my money back, but ended up with a severe flea problem for the first time since I started using the Seresto collars. Now I am wary of fake Seresto collars even from a trusted source. I really liked these flea collars as they worked just fine and though expensive to start was the cheapest in the long run as they lasted 8 months or the entire flea season in my part of the country. I can not say that Chewys had gotten fake collars, but something changed last year and I highly suspect it was due to fake collars not the real Seresto brand as they work just fine. I am on the fence concerning my choice of protection for the coming flea season. Dave

I guess ive been lucky but the last few years ive been buying cheap collars from Farm&Fleet and they seem to be working just fine.
