Energy and stamina

Wondering if people who hunt their dogs pretty hard, 3-6 nights per week year round, use any kind of supplement or just try to use the right dog food, (whatever that may be)?

Good feed is all that's needed--

grew up on a farm and when we cut and split wood for weeks in the fall, baled hay for 6 days a week for weeks on end (and that was with no kicker, all by hand behind the baler and then in the barn stacking) add working on the threshing crew in July and August, all we eat was darn good home made meals- Nothing added. Same is true with the hounds, just make sure it has a good source of good fat like gravy on your potatoes(wink-wink)

We feed a good 20/30 year around. The young ones don't need anything extra but the one's with some age sometimes need a little energy boost. For that I use Nutri-gel in between rounds at hunts. It's also a great booster for sick dogs and puppies chalked full of vitamins and some extra calories. We've also given a B12 shot when running them hard.
