How hard is it finding permission or public land in Ohio/Michigan/Indiana corner?

Was curious about hunting in northwest Ohio, northeast Indiana or southern Michigan? Would like a small hunting cabin was thinking of looking in that area just wasn't sure how hard it is to find places to hunt in that area? Currently in north Central Ohio so looking for an area 3-4 hours away that has plenty areas to hunt thanks for any response

Private land is hard to get permission for. Some ok state land in Ohio and Michigan but it can get rough and hilly.

Deep and alone will get you a timeout

In Ohio .Leaving the woods will get you a timeout and no coon scored. Crossing the road puts dogs in clear and present danger, timeout in that situation or hunting on property I do not have permission because dogs couldn't tree coon where dropped. Have seen whole casts arrested, guides are getting harder to come by. If I have one with no comeback, and put in a small pocket, I just withdraw, I try and line up a guide who has the territory to accommodate my dog or I stay home, now.
Your? Real hard to find it.
