Do it during the day and make sure you are certain it is a squirrel and not a coon.

never done it, but I've been told to drive around looking for squirrels and turn dog loose on them. Once you know they're smelling squirrel, give them correction.

Trap and put it in his kennel

Worst part is drawing dogs, not broke, owners don't understand it.
