Lonnie A. Ray of Darlington County, S.C. was murdered while meeting buyers of a French bulldog puppy he was selling. See story in the NY Times here:

According to the story, the sheriff recognized Mr. Ray as a former coonhunting buddy. The assailants and pup are still missing...

Hunted with Lonnie Ray back in the day ALWAYS HAD GOOD TIMES WITH HIM He was always Lonnie Ray anywhere you seen him. Our Last hunt I remember having, Lonnie,Randall and myself were hunting Rag Town Swamp and we got into Chest deep water I WILL Never forget the sight, Lonnie Ray stripped down to Nothing and used A dry shirt and made him A DIAPPER AND DROVE HOME LIKE THAT He was A great guy I Hated to hear about this. His Last hounds I remember him owning were Burnt Woods Rambler and a Blue female named Gypsy RIP Ole Friend

What a senseless crime this was, just to steal a pup. What has this world come to? A good man lost his life at the hands of scumbags, I hope they catch those responsible and they get the death penalty. The downside will be the cost to taxpayers for their legal fees and housing, food and medical care. Cases like this make me sick. Dave
