Pathfinder 2

I had problems with the communication on my system, tone and correction were erratic. They are sending me a new system. Does anyone know if they have really fixed the problem? Evidently only a percentage have the problem.

I’ve been studying on them lately, needed to upgrade collars and could have bought the pathfinder2 system for about what I was gonna spend on Garmin collars alone. Seems like most people were pretty happy with the original, but the 2 was/is having significant issues. A big part of it is comparability with the operating system on your phone. Heard of several issues with the collars themselves, and read about a ton of issues in general. I’ve been told customer service is excellent (which is good because you’ll definitely be dealing with them).

Long story short, when I called Conkey’s they steered me back towards the Garmin, and I’m glad they did.

I had the pathfinder 2 and originally really liked it. My system took an update and from that point forward my collars wouldn't attach to the system anymore. Conkey's replaced 3 or 4 collars and worked very hard to fix the problem but to no avail. Twice it stopped working during a competition hunt so I had to go back to the reliability of the garmin. I do miss the maps but the garmin never fails me.

You're lucky. Suppose no one told you and you spent your money and then found out it wasn't good.

The Pathfinder II appears to be a "new" version that was an excuse to make it with cheaper parts and cheaper maps. There was ZERO reason to change anything on the Pathfinder I.

tone and correction were erratic

My only complaint with pathfinder. It is impossible to get perfect timing when you shock with this system. Just think how many times you hit a button on your phone and no response , then you hit the same button again and it responds the way it was suppose to the first time you hit the button. The timing of the corrections are not reliable enough to get the split second timing I like when correcting my dog. I am going to be putting my old tri tronics LR90 back on and have 2 collars on my dog, I just dont trust the pathfinder anymore.

How common are the issues with the PF2, have they fixed it, are they going to fix it ? Been awhile since a pathfinder has even been mentioned on this board. Everybody ditch em and back to Garmin or what's up. I want one..if it's goin to work.

I was able to send my Pathfinder 2 back in and they sent me a new one. My understanding is that they made some changes to the board. Have used this one about 5 times and it is working perfectly. If it stays this way I am very happy with the Pathfinder 2.
