PF2 mapbox

Has anybody noticed their maps aren't current ? I'm looking at buying one so I downloaded the app to take a look and right off I see several houses around home here built about three years ago that are not shown on the map. Are there updates or something after one is purchased that would bring everything up to date ?

I recently ordered the pf2 and tha map apps show our home unfinished and the time frame was 5 years ago when the map pic was taken. If the app won't update I will probably send back and stay with the pf1

Interesting. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this in previous discussions about the PF2.

I talked to them and they said they would look into it. Only thing I don't really like about the 2

I wondered what not using Google Maps would do... for an upgrade... seems like they went backwards a bit in the maps... which the high quality Google Maps was the best feature of the PF1.

Just got off the phone with dogtra . First off let me say the best tech support I have ever spoken with verry thorough. Took time to answer my questions and helped me understand the why and where of it all. The big reason for the maps is Google earth charged more . The mapbox is an open map and they are trying to keep costs right . However it is a new system and they are still working kins out. As of today they have placed the update that is an over lay type and it has cleared up map a great degree. It has also fixed the road problem and now shows the roads. The firm ware is out also now that helps fix the collar problems they are having. He also said of course it is a new system the kinks will be worked out said it is a work in progress. As with all tech it updates and gets better each day . But the big thing is tech support said if you have any questions or problems to contact dogtra they will get you answer. It may take up to 24 hours and they told me that and they were almost spot on on the time frame bur they will return call. I am glad that I had chance to speak to them was having second thoughts on the 2 but now I am settled I will stay with it .

I'm a big Pathfinder fan, really like it. But I was disappointed with the PF2. Not having the Google maps was a mistake- and more so I was disappointed they prohibited sharing between first gen and second gen. Very minor upgrades overall, down grade in map quality, and locked out sharing. Definite money grab.

I totally understand they did however say that the maps would be fixed as it goes they are still working on the map side . And the reason Google maps is so clear is the fact that even with Google earth the closer you get it tends to get a little fuzzy. They actually basically took a screen shot of Google maps so they could allow to zoom in and not loose the pixels . This is what I was told . I am in no case a computer tech so this is all I know based on what was told .

They said the diffrence in the maps is the mapbox verses google thing . I agree I liked the pf1 map better but pf2 seems to have a few more options on its side so see which one ends up being g the better setup time wil tell .
