For the second time in this series short lifespan, we are going to be talking Uchtman blueticks. This time, we are going to the fruitful mid 1990s to talk about CH GRNITECH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s So Blue Hornet. Hornet, like his Grandsire that we previously discussed, Hawk, was one of a long line of dominate reproducers with the Uchtman name attached to them. I show Hornet having the 6th most titled dogs sired in the breed’s history, and 8th in the total number of pups produced. Let’s see some of the dogs he threw.

Born in August of 1996, Hornet wasted no time in getting pups on the ground with his first litter being born in May of 1998, well short of his 2nd birthday. And though he sired only 6 litters in the 90s, the new millenium brought forth a lot more opportunities. That’s where we will start. In November of 2000, GRNITECH ‘PR’ McCullough’s Boston Mt Gyspy dropped 8 puppies with 3 of them earning a title. Those 3 were NITECH ‘PR’ McCullough’s Sugar, CH ‘PR’ McCullough’s Kings River Jesse, and the dog sharing the ad with Hornet below, GRNITECH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s So Blue Fly. The next month 3 more titled dogs were born out of GRNITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Chor’s Blue Molly. That 7-pup litter included NITECH ‘PR’ Mooney’s Pea Ridge Blue Truman, GRNITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s So Blue Timber, and CH ‘PR’ Hostetlers Blue Honey Bee.

Continuing the trend of December litters, in 2001 GRNITCH GRCH ‘PR’ Clifty Creek Blue Mindy dropped a litter of Hornet pups that 5 of the 9 pups titled out in. Those 5 were GRCH GRNITECH ‘PR’ Mosley’s Blue Gritt, GRNITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s So Blue Clyde, GRCH NITECH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s So. Blue Leann, NITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Widners Southern Blue Brittany, and CH GRNITECH ‘PR’ Rose’s Bl Hornet’s Baby Rosey. Then one year later in December of 2002, NITECH ‘PR’ Mocks Blue Jammin Jaden dropped an 11 pup Hornet litter that had 6 title. Those 6 were CH’PR’ Kingerys Blue Chipper, NITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s Blue Sassie, GRNITECH GRCH ‘PR’ North Star Blue Cricket, GRCH ‘PR’ Uchtman’s So. Bl. Satin, GRCH NITECH ‘PR’ North Star Blue Julie, and CH GRNITECH ‘PR’ Hollis Tootsie.

In February of 2003, CH GRNITECH ‘PR’ Swofford’s Blue Sugar had 7 puppies that had 4 of them title out, from a cross with Hornet. Those 4 were NITECH ‘PR’ Mosley’s Blue Sting, CH NITECH ‘PR’ Hunters Blue Angel, GRCH GRNITECH ‘PR’ Boones Mackie Creek Blue Princess, and CH ‘PR’ Parton’s Blue Kate. Hornet had successful litters into his 11th year of life. One litter when he was 9 years old in September of 2005 was out of ‘PR’ Poudres River Blue Lean. Out of the 9 puppies in that litter, 3 achieved a title including NITECH ‘PR’ Blake’s Tank, NITECH CH ‘PR’ Poudre River Blue Sara, and NITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Hornet’s So Blue Saggy HTX.
