Dog getting hotter then usual?

Hes more hot natured anyways but seems to be getting hotter then ever while out hunting and has even layed down a few times now. Going to get a full panel done at vet just wondering anything else I should try or anything specific I should have him tested for? Thanks.

Just had my old dog test positive for ehrlichia (tick disease) that acted the same way. They put her on doxycycline for 30 days (2 pills twice/day) and she had to get 2 shots of Imizol 2 weeks apart. I was told by the vet the doxy's would make her run hotter and mess up her smell, which is the case for my dog. I've heard other people hunted their dog on doxy no problem, but I won't be taking mine out until after she's done. Looked worse on the meds than before she got the diagnosis. We'll see what she's like after the meds get out of her system, which I was told is 1 week after the pills run out.
