New pup for kid, as good as it gets. (New video)

It's been great having my son show more of an interest and enjoying hunting with me. Picked him up a pup today... he is pretty excited. Good times.

Good looking pup, hope he does real well for you both. There are many years of memories to be made with what is in your son’s arms. Good luck.

Wow! He's a nice one. That young man is going to have a good time training him. The pup's going to enjoy it, but dad will probably enjoy it most.

Pup

Now that is one pretty pup, I hope he makes a good coon dog. Part of the fun will be seeing the son and pup progress together. I do not train pups, but love the folks that do train pups. Dave

Pup is growing like a weed. My son is already enjoying him... Already taught him to "sit" on command. Pup seems really smart. Bold, confident, but pretty easy keeper around the house.

Updated picture, he is growing well and very healthy. About another month and we will start exposing him to some coons and let the training begin! Hudson (the older hound) is pretty big, probably a 60 plus pound dog- so you can get a rough idea how big he is getting.

They’re doing good!
I don’t want to brag on them to much but they really are the whole package at this age.
I might hate them a year from now but I’m pleased with what they are right now.
They both look just like yours.

Keep in touch when you start training them- curious to compare notes. I've not done anything coon hunting with this one yet. My son's been loading him in the dog box and giving him treats, and playing with him a lot. I think I texted you a while back- feel free to text when you start messing with them.

First caged coon...

Been taking the pup out hunting with us at night the last couple weeks. Let him watch the older dog (really a big puppy himself) bark at a caged coon today. He seemed really interested for his first time. My son was excited to see his pup barking at a coon! I only show a young pup 1 - 3 caged coon, and spread it out . I don't really do it to train them... more to know where they are at... to determine what I should be expecting from that at night. Here is a video my son made of his pup barking at his first coon:

New Video

Mac is now 8 months old and starting to figure out he likes coon hunting. About time to take him out solo now.... but boy it's tough to leave this other dog in the kennel. The older dog (mostly white in the video) is only 18 months old and still needs all the hunting he can get... good problems to have.

Check out them treeing (link below) last night.... this is the perfect tree to get a pup fired up!

And tonight, here is a picture of my son- his pup, and their first solo coon! Quite a fun journey from then until today!
