I would test him for Lymes. Friend of mine had a dog that was limping for awhile then finally one day she couldn’t get up and he took her to the vet and she test positive. Lymes is getting bad

Yes limping for no apparent reason is a Lymes symptom

I had a dog start limping once this year. He would walk a mile on the leash without hardly putting his foot on the ground. Laid him for a couple days and he had no swelling and nothing in his foot. After a couple days I figured heck I work when I pull a muscle so he can as well so I went back to hunting him. It probably took about 3 weeks till he got back to normal. It slowed him down a little for them 3 weeks and he didn't tree the same because he couldn't stand right but he got over it and is ok.

If not been snake bit and nothing stuck in foot that you can see or feel I would have soaked foot all way up to knee in warm bucket of water epsom salt solution . Id use whole 1 lb bag epsom salt . soak for 30 min and wait few hours do it again. If no change head to vet.
