This may sound ridiculous, but I've noticed that my light will flicker when I use the tone or stimulation, and last night when I felt like he was being shocked my light flickered in the same manner. The kicker is, I was hunting alone, screen was locked, and unit was sitting untouched on my dash.
Don't sound ridiculous at all. Electronic equipment does interfere with other equipment. After reading this. I doh't think the issues is in the collar. But a stray signal being picked up by the handheld.
I have seen lights sitting on the seat next to a garmin respond to things being done with the garmin handheld. I have seen VHF radios operated on a frequency close to the garmin handhelds to things to the collar stimulation and the handheld.
Also the position of some of this electronic equipment (handheld) in a newer truck with a lot of electronic equipment. Can cause interference.
Back a dozen years or so ago. I had the garmin 220. I started wearing a cap light for the first time then also. For the first three nights my Garmin range was down to 500 yards and I thought something was wrong with it. It was the rheostat switch on the light interfering with the garmin handheld. I started to notice that when I had my light off the range was ok.
