Rules Question

A weird situation happened last night it didnt effect the winner but if ever happens again I would like to handle It the correct way.

Dogs A B C D are all struck A B C is trailing opposite direction of D. A B C are treed and scored. Cast I walking back towards where we heard D.

Handler of D declares Treed cast asked where dog is at and Handler indicated D to be left handed through the country. A roar of dog could be heard but when cast steps up in a field D is treed right handed completely opposite of where Handler pin pointed D.

Handler A wanted D to be Minused and to Tree the dog back in.

How would this be handled? And if someone could show me a rule that would be great.

Rule 14 :b 2
Bring the scoreing situation up for a vote.
Then proceed with cast as vote outcome dictates.
Tree D back in if need be .

If the dog was heard treed and had not stopped i would say go score it. Just shows he was treeing by what he heard and not his Garmin!

To get minused because of being in position that you're hearing an echo would be pretty low sportsmanship

X2, dog treed just has to be treed and not moving, direction can be hard to tell and if dog never shuts up or moves it did not matter that handler thought dog was in a different direction. How many times have we all thought our dog/s were treed in one direction only to actually be treed in another direction. Dave

Why did the cast ask the handler to pinpoint where his dog was treed if they could hear him treed? They were trying to set him up from the beginning.
What to do? Don't fall into the "trap". Always say, "it sounds like he is in that direction". Or, "I think that he is that way".
What rule? The rule only says that you minus a dog if it moves. It doesn't say handler has to pinpoint a dog or that you minus a dog if it isn't in the direction the handler says it is. The judge has to hear the dog in order to take the handler's call. The judge can determine direction as well as handler.

Never ever let any judge or cast member make you "pinpoint" where your dog is treed.
