FREE To Good Home - Older Walker Male (Rescue)
The county animal control got in touch with me because they were going to put down this Walker hound.
I told them I would take him and find him a good home.
They said he has been abused and thus needs a home with a gentle hand.
I just got him today and he seems to be in decent shape, he's a little thin, but not bad. He seems to be okay around other dogs and my 9 month old female has been hanging out with him today.
I haven't hunted him and I have no idea if he will hunt. He has a huge chunk taken out of his ear, so he has got in a fight with some kind of critter at some point in his life.
2 previous homes tried to adopt him and they weren't successful in keeping him because they didn't have experience with hounds. I'm led to believe he is a hunting dog due to how he acts.
I worked with him today on leading and he picked up pretty quick not to pull on the leash.
He is gray in the face, but the body coloring is sharp so I would guess his age around 6-8, but I don't know and the animal control didn't know either.
He doesn't have much of a mouth, but I've heard softer mouths.
He obviously doesn't have papers, but you could register him as x-bred for $25 if you wanted to put him in hunts.

I can't drive to meet you and I don't really want to put this dog in the woods, but the first to come get him is welcome to him. If I have to start hunting him and putting time into him then I will have to charge a re-homing fee and I really just want him to go to someone that wants to mess with him.
